Rolex Double Red Sea-Dweller (Ref. 1665)

       The Rolex Sea-Dweller was the product of one of Rolex's most successful partnerships. COMEX, a French firm specializing in deep-water diving helped Rolex develop the iconic Submariner, and as technology advanced and depths increased, a new deep-water divers watch was needed. Rolex developed the Sea-Dweller in response to these requirements, boasting a 610 meter water resistance, Helium escape valve, and a bulletproof movement. The first few revisions featured 2 lines of red printing, and are highly valued by collectors for their technological innovation, rarity, and utilitarian styling. The example for sale here is a Mark III version, produced in the early 1970’s. 
      In like-new condition, the case and original bracelet have basically no wear. The original bezel is in perfect condition and moves freely. The dial is in outstanding condition, with creamy lume and nearly perfect hands. The movement is in exceptional condition and has been well maintained over it’s near 50 year life. The Superdome crystal is an original Rolex part, and has no significant scratches or scuffs. The watch keeps time within COSC standards, and shows no visible wear inside. This example has been cared for and basically never worn, and is one of the cleanest Double Reds you'll find!
