Here at House of Time, LLC, we have two certified watchmakers working on premises: myself (Michal Blaszczyk) and Christopher Grygny. I hold two certifications from two independent entities - AWCI’s CW21 and WOSTEP. Christopher is certified from AWCI, but holds the higher CMW21.
We strictly adhere to the highest of industry standards as shown here. Unfortunately, most manufactures do not have such public examples of what is professional watchmaking; as such, I am thankful that AWCI took the time to compile a list of basic expectations.
You may find yourself asking, “So what? What do the certifications mean?” Great question! Does a certification mean that a watchmaker will always produce flawless work? No, it is not a guarantee that you will get the best industry work; however, it reduces the change that you will become the victim of this type of work.
As in many other professions, be they doctor, lawyer, or mechanic, watchmakers should constantly re-invest into their education to make sure our knowledge, practices, and procedures stay current. This way, the client always gets the best service.
Below is a mostly complete list of brand-sponsored and general trainings that Christopher and I have completed, starting from most recent and in the following format:
